Immigrant Roots.
DMV Diversity.

Alek Dolgushev is from Russia. His family immigrated to the United States when he was young, and like a lot of immigrant families, they had to learn everything as they went, the language, the culture, how businesses work here. He grew up in the DMV around people from every background: Russian, Ukrainian, Hispanic, Korean, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Filipino. That is home. That is DreamHome's market.

Alek is DreamHome's Marketing Manager and the first point of contact for many of the homeowners who call in. He is who picks up when somebody in Annandale, Woodbridge, Silver Spring, Herndon, Falls Church, or Columbia is nervous about a roof, a window, a siding project, and calls a contractor for the first time. That first conversation is usually not about roofing systems or technical jargon. It is about comfort, and trust, and whether someone is going to explain things in a way they understand.

"Most people want the same thing: honesty, clear information, and someone who will actually listen. I never want someone to feel rushed or talked down to."

Alek Dolgushev, Marketing Manager

For homeowners whose first language is not English, that first phone call carries an extra weight. Alek understands the feeling of knowing what you want to say and worrying the words will not come out perfectly. DreamHome supports Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Indian, Filipino, Arabic, Persian, Somali, Russian, and Ukrainian, and it is not something to be embarrassed about. Alek asks up front, calmly, whether a homeowner would like translation support. Team members and translation services fill any gap. Nobody is asked to make a major home decision without understanding what is being said.

A lot of the homeowners Alek talks with are first-generation homeowners. Some worked extremely hard to buy their home. It may be the first home their family has ever owned in the United States. That is not just another project. It is protecting something they sacrificed for. Alek treats every one of those calls with the extra care that story deserves: clear on every step, on who is coming, on how long, on what questions to ask, on what options are available. A good customer experience is not about selling a project. It is about helping someone feel confident in the decision they are making.

"You do not have to speak perfect English to be treated with respect. You do not have to know all the roofing or siding or window terms. That is our job to explain."

Alek Dolgushev, Marketing Manager

What Alek enjoys most is connecting with people. Every call is different: Spanish-speaking family in Manassas, retired couple in Bethesda, someone from Annandale, Silver Spring, Rockville, Alexandria, Woodbridge, or Columbia. Sometimes a homeowner starts a call nervous, frustrated, or unsure, and by the end feels calmer because someone listened. For immigrant families especially, a project like this can represent years of hard work and sacrifice. Being able to help those families feel comfortable and respected is what he does.

Anti-Pressure Standard

Some homeowners are worried about being taken advantage of. Alek understands that fear. DreamHome does not use "today only" pricing or the manager-approved-another-discount trick. The first call is not a sales script. It is a conversation about whether DreamHome is the right fit.
