Statistically, the small business administration reports that 96 percent of all contractors fail. many fail because, in order to earn your business, they sold goods and services for less than they could afford to supply them. If a company doesn't make a fair profit, it cannot stay in business.
These window companies are forced to cut corners, they use unskilled labor and cheap materials, and leave out homeowner protection, such as licenses and insurance.
Many fail because of poor workmanship. Of all the complaints made to the Better Business Bureau, one of the highest percentages comes from poor home remodeling workmanship and installation.
Companies that sell for less than they can afford o and do poor work aren't around later to service their mistakes.
That leaves you with a very small number f reliable companies to choose from.
